Procedures & Criteria
Brakenhale School is an academy in the Greenshaw Learning Trust and the Greenshaw Learning Trust is the admissions authority for the school. All admissions are co-ordinated by Bracknell Forest Council.
Brakenhale School has a Published Admission Number of 210 for entry into Year 7 in September 2023.
Procedures
The admissions process usually starts in mid September the year previous to starting at secondary school and closes at the end of October. Offers are sent in March of the following year. On the Bracknell Forest admissions website you will be invited to complete an online form; you can alternatively fill in a paper application form. You will be required to submit supporting documents such as a birth certificate and social/medical information if pertinent.
Criteria
Students with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) that names the school will be allocated a place before other applicants are considered.
Oversubscription criteria – If the school receives more applications than there are places available, the following criteria will be applied;
Priority 1: Looked After Children
Priority 2: Exceptional Medical/Social need
Priority 3: Children of members of staff
Priority 4: Siblings
Priority 5: Designated Area
Priority 6: Distance (outside of the designated area)
