2025 Results

Brakenhale Sixth Form Celebrates Incredible A-Level Results

We're incredibly proud to celebrate our Sixth Form students’ outstanding A-Level results today! This year, the percentage of students achieving A–A* grades has doubled and value-added scores have increased by 0.46, reflecting the exceptional progress and attainment of our students. Whether they are going on to university, embarking on apprenticeships, starting work, travelling, taking a gap year, or exploring something completely different, we congratulate every one of them on their achievements and wish them success in the exciting journeys ahead.

“We are extremely proud of our students’ achievements and privileged to be celebrating with them today. The hard work and dedication shown by our young people has been exceptional. The percentage of students achieving top grades has doubled, and they have secured some incredible destinations as a result. It is wonderful to see increasing numbers of students going on to Russell Group Universities, and we are delighted that nearly all students have been accepted into their first-choice university. Well done!”

Among the many success stories:

  • Rual D achieved A*, A*, B  and has accepted a place at the University of Oxford to study Law.

  • Marine S achieved A*, A, B and has accepted a place at the Royal Veterinary College, University of London to study Veterinary Science.

  • Bethia P achieved A*, A*, A* and has accepted a place at The University of Southampton to study Occupational Therapy.

  • Mika S achieved A*, A, A, B and has accepted a place at Birmingham City University to study Applied Theatre.

  • Ashley W achieved A, A, B and has accepted a place at The University of Manchester to study Business Management.

These results reflect Brakenhale’s continued commitment to academic excellence and personalised support, ensuring every student is given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

 

Brakenhale Celebrates Another Year of Excellent GCSE Results

Brakenhale School is proud to celebrate another year of excellent GCSE results, with continued improvement across all key measures and standout performances from many students.

The school’s Attainment 8 score of 43.9 marks a significant year-on-year improvement, reflecting strong achievement across students' best eight qualifications. Notably, 46% of students achieved an Attainment 8 score above the national average of 46.3, showcasing Brakenhale's commitment to academic excellence.

 

In core subjects, outcomes continue to build on last year's success:

  • English: 71% of students achieved a grade 4 or above, with 58% achieving grade 5 or higher.

  • Maths: 70% achieved a grade 4 or above, and 45% achieved grade 5 or above.

  • English and Maths combined: 63% of students achieved grade 4 or above, while 40% achieved grade 5 or higher in both.

In addition, 58 grade 9s were awarded across the cohort—an outstanding achievement representing 9% of students. Several subjects stood out with performance well above national averages, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Health & Social Care, and Photography.

“We are incredibly proud of students' achievements. This is a testimony to their hard work and the support of our wonderful staff and families. Attainment continues to improve and is now significantly above average across a range of academic and vocational subjects. It has been a pleasure celebrating with staff and students today.
