PE Update

Since we have been back we have had growing numbers for our extra curricular clubs ranging from regular Basketball with Reading Rockets, new Badminton club as well as favourites of trampolining and football!
Get an extra hour fix of physical activity, be it practice something from lessons or try something new!
Fixtures this term have been dominated by football season! It’s mainly been County Cup games against a range of Schools near and far across the county. We have been very successful so far!
Year 7 girls won after extra time having traveled to Trinity School from Newbury and are looking forward to their next round vs Piggott School!
Year 9 Girls were not to be outdone; they too traveled to Trinity and won 2-1 and progress into the next round! They remain unbeaten having also played a league game drawing 2-2 with Bohunt! Great start Girls!
Sadly the Year 10 Boys usual cup success fell at the first hurdle with a hard fought last minute defeat in extra time to LVS. The boys worked hard but it’s not over until it’s over and with penalties looming a goal was conceded and cup run dreams over…
The Year 9 Boys march on into the third round having a bye in the preliminary round, then beating Highdown 5-1 in round 1! They now travel to Trinity School in round 3! Let’s hope it’s a hat trick of wins vs Trinity!
The Year 8 boys opened their County Cup run with a dogged match vs Highdown running out 3-2 winners! They now face St Bartholomews in the next round!
The Year 7 Boys had a mixed week with 2 games in a week! They won on penalties vs St Barts in the County Cup before traveling for a local derby vs Kings Easthampstead Park where sadly they went down 2-1.
It’s not just been football we have had students out representing us in Boccia and New Age Kurling!
Finally our Year 10 Sports Leaders have had a busy month having delivered an amazing Year 5 and 6 Indoor Bracknell Forest Primary School Athletics Heats, receiving so much great praise on their work ethic and professionalism to organise and motivate the younger students. They do it all again at the end of January and the beginning of February where they will run not only the Year 5 and 6 Finals but the Secondary Year 7 and 8 Finals as well as the Year 3 and 4 Finals too!
