Kacie and Elisha took part in the Hampshire FA Cup Final on Saturday, 12th April, helping their team to a fantastic 7–3 victory. Elisha scored two impressive goals, while Kacie netted a superb free kick. Miss Harvey, Mr Maye, and Mrs Lazarczuk travelled to Basingstoke to support them — and were treated to a thrilling match!

Kajus Crowned UK Speed Bounce Champion and Breaks National Record

Kajus in Year 8 is continuing to shine as an elite sportshall athlete.

We’re incredibly proud to share that he was crowned South of England Speed Bounce Champion for 2025, recording an astonishing 92 bounces in 30 seconds! He also picked up silver and bronze medals in other team events at the same competition.

Following this success, Kajus and his team were selected to represent the South of England at the UK Nationals in April. We kept our fingers crossed for the Berkshire team — and they delivered!

Kajus went on to win gold at the UK Sportshall Championships, becoming the UK Speed Bounce Champion for 2025 and setting a new English record with 94 bounces in 30 seconds.

In addition, he secured silver in the 4x1 sprint relay and another silver as part of the Berkshire team, who finished second overall in the Under-13 category.

Next up, Kajus will move into the U15 category, despite still being just 12 years old until the end of the school year. While being a summer-born athlete poses challenges, Kajus is using it as fuel to grow stronger and continue pushing boundaries.

Also, well done to Alfie A.W., who finished an impressive 8th out of 52 players at the English Schools Golf Association event over the weekend. His performance has earned him a place in the national finals this June — a fantastic achievement!

Brakenhale Athletes Impress at District Meet

On Wednesday afternoon, 30 students represented Brakenhale at the District Athletics competition — and they did so with pride, determination, and outstanding sportsmanship.

Competing against some of the top athletes in the region, including those from prestigious private schools such as Wellington College and The Marist, our students more than held their own. Several staff from other schools even took the time to comment on both the talent and resilience our athletes displayed.

U12 Girls Shine as County Cup Runners-Up

The U12 girls competed in the BSFA County Cup Final on Thursday, 8th May — a fantastic achievement following weeks of hard work and dedication.

Although they were narrowly defeated by a very strong team from The Kennet School, finishing as runners-up is something they can be extremely proud of.

The girls showed great determination and teamwork throughout the competition and are already motivated to come back even stronger next year. Well done to the whole squad on an incredible journey to the final!

GLT Football Tournament Success in Bristol

On Wednesday, 7th May, 24 students from Years 7 to 9 took part in the GLT football tournament — travelling all the way to Blaise High School in Bristol for a full day of competitive football.

Despite the early start, the boys showed fantastic energy and determination across the year groups.

  • Year 7 were crowned tournament champions, bringing home a well-earned trophy!
  • Year 8 finished in 2nd place after a strong showing.
  • Year 9 secured 5th place, showing great resilience and teamwork throughout the day.
