In Year 10 and Year 11 we ensure all students are informed about the options available to them after GCSEs. Students have taster days in our Sixth Form, we invite local colleges to our Careers Convention to share information on Vocational Pathways and we also work with employers and apprenticeship providers as we recognise the value of the apprenticeship pathway. All Year 11 students also have a 1-2-1 personal guidance careers interview with our local partner, Adviza.

Dear Year 10 Students, Parents and Carers,
Firstly, we hope you are all staying safe and well. We want you to know that we are still working hard behind the scenes for Y10 students and making sure that any decisions you make about your next steps are as informed as possible.
Normally, at this time of year, we would be talking directly to Y10 students and preparing you for next year and your transition onward. However, due to the Covid-19 situation, we are unable to visit you at school so we are taking this opportunity to share some important information with you which, hopefully, you will find useful:
Open Events:
We ran successful Virtual Open Events in early June. If you missed these, you can still access some of the talks and our Q & A session:
Reading College Virtual Open Event: https://www.activatelearning.ac.uk/voe/reading-college-virtual-open-event
Bracknell and Wokingham College Virtual Open Event: https://www.activatelearning.ac.uk/voe/bracknell-and-wokingham-college-virtual-open-event
Dates for our Autumn Open Events have yet to be released. An email will be sent nearer the time with details of dates and how to register for these events.
College Videos / Presentation:
Even though we are currently unable to visit you at school, it is important that you still get all of the information you need to make these important decisions and we are providing alternative ways to ensure this happens. One of which, is our college videos and presentation – they give a real insight into college life and highlight some of the differences between college and school. Have a look at the link below.

If you have any questions after watching the videos or presentation, please visit our website
as it has details of all of the courses we offer, with entry requirements and shows all of the amazing facilities that you will be able to use at our Colleges.
T Levels:
Weβll soon be introducing T Levels, the next level qualifications which offer an alternative to A levels or Apprenticeships. With T Levels, you will learn the skills that employers need in the classroom and have the opportunity to put those skills into practice in an industry placement. For more information about these new and exciting qualifications, please click on the link below.
