Character@Brakenhale

Character Education

At Brakenhale success is not just measured by academic achievement but by the character of an individual.

Our aim is to make every child in our care the very best version of themselves through nurturing talent, channelling creativity, exposing ambition and competing for excellence.
Students at Brakenhale will experience a rich tapestry of opportunities that will shape choices, develop pride and confidence, as well as prepare students for their next steps in life.

To prepare our students for life outside of school we will offer a range of opportunities for students to participate in. These will be categorized into 6 Character Strengths:

Community
Physical
Academic
Culture
Leadership
Aspiration

Through a variety of activities and actions, students will earn House Points that are linked to each Character Strength. Through accumulating a set amount of House Points in each Character Strength students will be recognised with an official badge that they will be allowed to wear on their school blazers.

Within these Character Strengths students can work through the different tiers of Bronze, Silver and Gold. Students that have achieved Gold in all 6 Character Strengths will be awarded with the highest honour a Brakenhale student can achieve – Platinum status. House Points will be carried over year on year to allow students to progress.

We have put together a presentation with more information on the Character@Brakenhale Education Programme Download Presentation
