Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
I’m excited to share with you a great opportunity for Year 12 students, a residential summer school at Oxford Brookes University.
As climate change and sustainability continue to be hotly discussed topics both politically and socially, Study Higher, who work with Oxford Brookes University, have announced this year’s summer school.
Your Sustainable Future will enable students to gain a clearer idea of what a diverse topic sustainability is and some of the surprising courses and ‘Green Economy’ careers that link to it. The two-night residential will provide a glimpse of life as a university student taking part in university style workshops and lectures. It will cover a wide variety of subject areas allowing students to develop a strong understanding of the sometimes surprising ways that university study could contribute to a more sustainable planet.
The Year 12 summer school will be held at Oxford Brookes University and will be free for any students attending with Study Higher. Any travel costs associated will also be covered.
If you are interested please visit www.studyhigher.ac.uk/summerschool for further info and a link to complete the application.
There are limited spaces in the summer school and the application deadline is 6th June. I have attached a poster that provides some details for your information.
This is a great way to get a taste of university life, meet new people and discover the wide range of courses and careers available to you in the future, so please be open to this great opportunity.
