Brakenhale Team in Regional Finals

The Brakenhale School wins Cisco Award for Best Presentation, Best Submission and Final Pitch at the Cisco Little Big Awards 2016.
On the 24th of Feb The Brakenhale School participated in the Regional Finals for the Cisco Little Big Awards. The team consisted of a group of Yr 10 boys- Jordan P, Ben C, James E, Mikita N, Joseph B and Zackary M. They competed at the University of Reading against schools from Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. They had to come up with an idea of a new app which could be used in i.e Entertainment, Education. They were judged on each of the following- Creativity, Business Case, Technology, Planning and Final Pitch and Presentation.
The boys did a fantastic pitch and then faced a panel of 7 judges who questioned them about their idea for their new app. Some of the judges were so impressed at their performance that they have offered a number of internships in their mobile and App development company.
The boys have shown great promise for the future.
This Wednesday, 24th February 2016, five of our Year 10 students will be participating in the Regional Finals of the Cisco Little BIG Awards at Reading University.
Cisco has invited schools across the country to take part in the Awards to show them how they think our lives could be made better by connecting everyday things together. To find out more please visit the Cisco website.
Jordan P, Zachary M, James E, Ben C, Nikita N and Joseph B will be competing against schools from Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire for a place in the National Finals which will take place on the 29th March.
These clever students have come up with an idea for a new app which has not been created before (we cannot reveal details until the day of the competition) and they will be judged under the following criteria:
- Creativity, Design and Usability
- Business Case (How you will make money)
- Technology, Research and Implementation
- Planning, Process and Documentation
- Final Pitch and Presentation
