Christmas Holiday Monday 21st December – Friday 1st January
Monday 4th January 2016: Back to school
For full lists of dates please see the calendar page
As we near the end of the Autumn term I wanted to take the opportunity to write to everyone to say thank you very much for your help and support this year. Your feedback is invaluable in helping me to make continual improvements, for example the very constructive comments regarding the AP reports have resulted in a much more effective and detailed report going out, so thank you!
We are pleased to inform you of an exciting opportunity that we can offer Year 7s here at The Brakenhale School. Jason Woolerton, an IT technician with us, also runs a Judo School at various locations across Berkshire and we have asked him to also offer it here for Brakenhale students.
Please see the flyer attached and if you are interested fill in the form and return it to Main Reception for the attention of Jason Woolerton. The first session is a free taster. Should you wish your child to continue with the Judo School then the term’s payment will be required the following Wednesday. If you would like to discuss the payment further please do not hesitate to contact Craig Humber here at the school on firstname.lastname@example.org
The recent Readathon has raised £440.45!!! A very respectable amount, and much appreciated by the children in hospital who will benefit from this donation. Our students have raised over £1000 for the charity in the last 12 months…and read a ton of books!

If anybody has access to these items and can donate them we would be extremely grateful.
The Brakenhale School’s science department has organised for your son/daughter to have free access to the revision program, Tassomai, following some extremely promising trials in several schools last year.
We would like to inform you that from the 4th January we will be going in-house for our catering. We feel this is the way forward for The Brakenhale School with the upcoming change to being an academy. We also believe that it will be more beneficial to the students, nutritionally and economically.
This change will not affect the ParentPay system we have in place and you will still be able to put money on your child’s account.
We are very excited with the changes we are implementing in 2016 and hope that as a parent/carer you will also feel that way. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Becky Tipper on email@example.com
