Post 16 Success!

There have been a number of successes for many of our students both at ‘A’ level and ‘AS’ level this year.  At ‘A’ level there has been a 3% increase in our proportion of A grades.  Alongside this we have continued with our outstanding vocational results with 60% of all vocational qualifications achieving Distinction*, the very top grade, again there has been an increase at this top end of vocational results by 4%.

Individual students have been celebrating today.  Jake Clothier achieved outstanding grades including an A* in Maths and an A in Further Maths, he will go on to study Maths and Philosophy at his chosen Russell Group university.  Ebenezer Opoku-Ware achieved Distinction* in all three of his BTEC’s in Law, Business Studies and ICT.

At ‘AS’ level there has been an even greater increase in the grades achieved with a 4% increase at A*-B and a 10% increase at both A*-C and A*-E, with further success stories such as Emily Harrison gaining an A in Media, A in Geography and B in Travel & Tourism.

This September our £1 million brand new extension to the Sixth Form block will open.  Along with the appointment of 14 new excellent teachers, many from outstanding schools, we have no doubt that Post 16 results will continue to rapidly and significantly improve across the next academic year.

Thank you to staff, students and parents who have supported us throughout this last academic year.  Without their time and effort such results would not be possible.
